and sometimes overwhelming.

at 1.800.272.3900 and our knowledgeable specialisits will answer
your questions and provide a FIRST STEP packet full of disease and
support specific information and other local resources to support
you.
FIRST STEP is especially helpful to families with
a new diagnosis. The Alzheimer's Association serves as a partner
to your primary care provider, and offers a broad array of educational
and support services to add to the diagnostic and treatment plan.
Our FIRST STEP program takes place in both East
Central Iowa Chapter office locations in Cedar Rapids and Waterloo.
Who should attend the
Alzheimer's Association FIRST STEP program?
- Individuals diagnosed and caregivers who are
new to the diagnosis.
- Individuals diagnosed
and caregivers who may not be new to the diagnosis, but are encountering
issues that accompany the disease.
- Individuals diagnosed who are new to the area
and require education about the local Alzheimer's Association
and other community resources.
- Professionals and Para-Professional caregivers
who want to understand what referral resources are available in
the community.
- Interested individuals who want to learn more
about the disease.
